University of Tulsa mechanical engineering seniors recently participated in the annual SAE Aero Design Competition in Van Nuys, California. The TU team designed and built a scale model airplane to compete in the heavy lift division of the Society of Automotive Engineers event.
Recent TU graduate Alex Garoffolo (BA ’18) feels called to help improve American and Russian relations; and after winning a 2018 Fulbright Scholarship for an English Teaching Award to Russia, he will start his diplomacy in a Russian classroom.
The University of Tulsa boasts its first David L. Boren Scholar, Rachel Wolf, an anthropology, Russian studies and music sophomore with a penchant for investigative research. Most students don’t spend winter break with their head in a book, but in December 2016, Wolf spent 250 hours researching Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
