There are many ways to show your English proficiency for the University of Tulsa

Non-native English speakers must meet one of the standards listed below:

  • English Language Test Scores

    Achieve one of these minimum scores:

    15 Listening
    18 Speaking
    17 Writing

    Minimum subscores:

    6 Reading
    6 Listening
    6 Speaking
    5.5 Writing

    No individual score below 162

  • Approved English Language Programs

    Successfully complete one of these English language programs:

    • ELS: Level 112

    • The Language Company (TLC): Level 9

    • Kaplan English: Advanced Level

    • Kaplan English: Higher Intermediate Level with Kaplan iBT 70

  • US High School/University
    • US College or University: Minimum 30 credit hours of academic coursework

    • US High School graduate (SAT or ACT recommended)

  • Native English Speaker

    Citizens of these countries do not need to provide proof of English proficiency.
