MY TU STORY
I am a South Dakota native; yes, I grew up in the shadows of Mt. Rushmore! However, Tulsa became my second home in the 80s. I remember coming to TU’s campus when my alma mater, Southern Illinois University, used to played TU. After that, my life took place in far south Tulsa County, and I didn’t return to campus until my oldest applied to come to school here. I didn’t recognize the campus! It was completely transformed (in a good way). I didn’t work here when my oldest child attended TU, but became passionate about the quality education and personalized attention she received.
In 2014, I began my work here at TU in the Graduate School. I loved my interaction with the students. In 2017, I transitioned to an International Admission Counselor. I was so impressed with students that pursued their college education in a foreign language! This year, I moved into the role of Transfer Admission Counselor, and I get to personally interact with students from all walks of life. I love hearing how each student’s journey has led them to their decision to switch campuses or return to school!
There is just something special about going to college! I love the environment and hope to have a positive impact on the student’s lives that I interact with.
